Providence Hospice of Seattle

Spurred to action during the pandemic after hearing about isolated hospital patients, I gave my local hospice a call to ask if I could share the colorful critters that had brought so much light to my family during that dark time. Fortunately, the hospice was looking for a volunteer who could make soft and cuddly creatures for the patients with Alzheimer's disease - preferable to other gifts that could cause injuries.

Although I'm not permitted to physically deliver my gifts, hearing from the staff that my furry friends are sometimes the first present a patient receives in decades, motivates me to keep crocheting with love and fill box after box with my crocheted critters.
